Nice length on the segments. I was able to listen to a couple of the shorter ones on my commute and to the longer interview while I did some data entry.
I downloaded the AAC version to my iPhone, but the audio was off. The "stock" sounds (the introduction and bumper music) were in stereo but the voice tracks were mono; I only heard Will in my left ear. I felt like this little train devil was on my shoulder urging me on with "forget about that steam stuff! Diesel ops! Diesel ops!" I had the same issue with the standard podcast via iTunes. Oh Boy ! One of the best shows yet! Going to be hard to top that one. I think your right where you should be, Thank you . Yes the audio was off as to the previous post. I thought there was something wrong with my Walkman. I can download it in AAC But, can't get it in chapters any suggestions or is that a Apple Ipod feature?

Great show this week guys. Loved the interview with Craig especially. I'm looking to model a "different" period as well. Late 1920s-early 1930s on the FEC overseas railway.
I was hoping someone could tell me the name of the book(s) he was referring to about early period railroading. |

Oh! It was a fun surprise to see the Maine Central locomotive on the AAC version "Departure Track". Sometimes in Maine, you feel so left out of the rest of the country...sniff.
I had to look up the locomotive type. I never know what locomotive is what. It's a GE U25B. |

www.modelrailcast.com/Show 34 updated and re-uploaded so that it is in mono and not one-side stereo.
As for the book on freight cars, I just went to amazon and it is out of print, but 2 sellers have it used. Go to amazon and search for John H White Jr. |

model-railroad-hobbyist.com/blog/671I have been a fan of Craig's layout for a while now through his website. Hearing the interview was great. I really hope I get a chance to visit his layout someday. A truly unique effort. I also plan to do a switch link similar to what he is doing and have taken some ideas from his clinic slides.
Given my (very) modest modeling skills at this point, I think my plan to do a 70s diesel layout in N will be a good way to get enjoyment from the hobby now. However, I am really thinking of doing an 1890 layout for the subsequent effort. The history is really interesting, and in northern New England, it was the last gasp of lots of smaller railroads before they all were bought or leased by the B&M by 1895. Of particular interest would be the Portsmouth & Concord. Regards, Chris |

thanks guys for the last two informative interviews. Really enjoyed, listening to Craig and Bernies' approach to the hobby. This is what i like about model railroading, there are so many areas that one can focus/excel in. Bernie and Craig liked scenery and design/planning. You guys like operations. I like scratchbuilding card structures. There's plenty in modelling for every one.
take care, don PS. I won't comment on the show length :) |
