www.ironsaddcasts.mypodcast.comHey guys there's a glitch on the normal Mp3 feed- Ryan has been notified and will fix it asap.
((note: appears to be working normally now)) Also, big shocker, I can't add: In the yard office I say an E-8 had 2250HP and it was split between two 1225HP engines... Also, I utterly failed to mention in the Yard Office that while Marty graciously corected his math citations vs extrac cad; he conversely was still right about an 18" radius helix presenting some major challenges- so my apologies to him if it seemed like I mis-represented his post. Marty and Bernie your time and involvement has been an incredible asset; Modelrailcast listeners don't forget to check out both these guys accomplished publications, their stuff is the real deal. |

Ok ! Very enlightening as far design ideas and some very important points which some of us would of never thought of. Ryan you are at the crossroads of were many modelers fall into. Just don't let it become procrastination, push ahead you will make mistakes as even your very experienced guest admit to that . Question is smaller better? Faster results and rewards or is bigger they way to go. Another good one for the archives. Editing not so good in a hurry for a soccer game ? Made for some interesting listening had to guess where the end of the show was. Is there a prize? Who's on first ? Just Love it!!!

www.alkemscalemodels.comMarty mentioned Paul Dolkos' B&M layout during the discussion. If you are considering a HO layout in a small space, Paul's B&M layout is worth some study. He managed to fit quite a bit of interesting operations and scenes in a relatively modest area.

model-railroad-hobbyist.com/blog/671Fun show. I enjoy listening to the discussion of Ryan's layout design. Its a nice way to present the thoughts one needs to go through via example. I really enjoy Ryan's obvious enthusiasm for his chosen prototype.
I thought maybe that the Chuckle Coupler could focus on train or model railroad humor. Not that it was bad.. just a bit off topic. I agree that the Paul Dolkos layout is well worth study. As I am wont to do, I put layout schematics up on my cube at work to study when I need to pull my head out of the database, his layout was up there for quite some time. Regards, Chris |

www.ironsaddcasts.mypodcast.comHey Chris,
Sigh- I suppose you're right, I was hoping that it would be tied in to the show enough because it dealt with the plights of two of its hosts- but point taken- and thanks for the constructive criticism! |

Hi Ryan,
It would have been helpful if you had put a link on the show 36 write-up to your track plans so that we could have followed the discussion of same during the broadcast. Please consider my recommendation for future similar situations. Yeah, I know you had a link to your plans elsewhere, but even this 140-IQ guy didn't find such a link elsewhere until after hearing the broadcast on the computer. By the way, I believe your version that includes the rectangular "blob" to allow a continuous run for your son as recommended by your guests to be an improvement over the earlier versions. Hey guys ---
Dave here from Raleigh, NC. Thanks for taking my question and answering it in full on the show. Great suggestions, too. Suggestions that I can put into play right away. I'm also putting in an Amazon order for that n-scale beginner's book. Also, thanks for keeping the podcast beginner friendly. Even though ya'll are pros, it's nice to be able to keep up. I've been in radio 20 years, so I know how much work goes into what you do. So thanks from all of us! Dave |

www.nyhrr.comThanks for the shout out!
But it's New York Harbor Railroad. I enjoyed the podcast but there was a funky fade outs and dead air in it. Once again I enjoyed the layout design discussion! |

rdglebanonvalley.wordpress.comGuys, It's been a while since I've commented on the shows, I've been pretty busy this past month and haven't gotten much railroading done with the exception of my monthly Round Robin group and listing to the weekly podcasts.
It’s probably redundant to keep saying that you just keep getting better and better each time, but as a long time listener it’s great to hear how the show has progressed. You are getting some great people in the hobby on board and it’s great to hear them along with the great knowledge from the hosts. It has become such a great Model Railroading product, I keep telling everyone that i know that they really should check it out and that's all a reflection of all of your continued hard work. |
