Dave, Ralph and Tim...Great job on the podcast.
Great subject.
Good point - if you want to learn about your era...go to a Prototype meet. Great source of information there.

I wish I could have been there at Cocoa Beach. It would have been fun meeting the guys from MRC. I'll be seeing most of you guys in Springfield.. Yahoo!!!

Keep up Tim!

Guys what an excellent show. I really liked the end discussion about real railroads. Personally I lke to hear real railroad discussions and I think that there is a place on MRCS for it. To me it brings in additional thoughts for the modeling and can add another element to protoype operations. KEEP IT UP!!!!

All,

it's been some weeks since my last comment. So it's time to get back.

I liked all last shows and this one was simply great. I like discussion about how to make our model railroads -for those who have one and those who would like to- more prototypical paying attention at which cars and loco to have and to use. Very useful.
Also, I'm really looking forward to listening future shows with even more modern subjects.

Very well done! And by the way, Tim is getting more and more professional at leading discussion and interview, thumb UP.

Really good show - I'll be saving this one.

ACI - Automatic Car Identification labels are colored bars applied to all equipment in interchange service.

Photos and history

Info about lots of car details - looks very good to me.

For my shelf layout, which I intend to run for 3 different eras, 1957, 1966 and 1976 - I've been acquiring cars and then keeping tabs on them to show when they could be run, and when they should be removed, or when they can first show up. I figure it will take me a few years to acquire 300 to 400 cars - I estimate that a operating session would need 100+ cars for my layout when it is completely built for 1 era.

I too would second the thumbs up for Bob's photos and if one can afford it, the various Morning Sun books about the period, railroad, and geographic area that you are modeling. They published Tom Flagg's NY Harbor books - both of which I have of course.

Thanks once more for a great show.

Gil
